July 2010--Extra
Extra! Extra!
This is a special newsletter update from the Kent! We normally publish no more often than once a month, but there are exciting things happening at the Kent in the next week that you might want to know about.
The Big Bad Musical
The play, "The Big Bad Musical" had a great opening on Wednesday night with over 200 people seeing the show. The reviews have been fantastic and the show has real appeal for every age from 3 to 83. Don't miss your chance to see The Big Bad Wolf on trial for his crimes. The audience is the jury and the verdict is up to you!
The shows continue today at 7:30p, Saturday (2 shows; 2:30p and 7:30p), and Sunday (3:00p). Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for Seniors and 12 & under at the door. Your ticket stub is good for $2 off any remaining show, if you want to see it again (or pass it along to someone else that you think would enjoy the show).
For more information, see the website.
Band Concerts
We have two band concerts coming up this week that were just recently scheduled.
3 Pill Morning
Minneapolis band "3 Pill Morning" is coming to the Kent!
Local teens Jordan Sagorski and Nick Bonarski have been hard at work to book bands for the theatre. They recently got in contact with the band "3 Pill Morning", who did a small acoustic show at Soul Infusions back in April. The band was looking to play in the area again, but they would only be in town for a few days and the show would be short notice. Jordan and Nick took the opportunity, in that the concert will kick start the Kent as a local music venue. The band has opened for many big names, including Chevelle, Taproot, and Papa Roach and soon will be on tour with the up and coming band "Framing Hanley".
The show will be Monday, July 19th @ 7pm and tickets will be $7 at the door.
Three Cents Short
Special guests also playing: "Translucent Soul" and another band to be announced! The show will be Wednesday, July 21st @ 7pm and tickets will be $3 at the door.
Movie: Toy Story 3
The hit movie "Toy Story 3" is coming to the Kent from July 23rd thru July 28th. The shows on the weekends are at the usual times on Friday at 6pm and 9pm, Saturday at 3pm, 6pm, 9pm, and Sunday at 3pm and 6pm. We've also extended the show run on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (all shows at 1pm) for those folks that prefer to see a weekday show.
Tickets are still just $3 per person!
You can always see the most current events information on our events calendar.

July 2010
Movies Continue at the Kent
Movies continue to be a success at the Kent, thanks to our loyal fans. At just $3 per ticket, we not only provide a fantastic value to our movie-going-public, we make enough on each weekend to be able to pay the bills and re-invest in the Theatre. Thank you to all of the volunteers that work so hard to make this a success.
For upcoming movies and times, be sure to visit our website.
Pancake Fundraiser
A Pancake Breakfast fund raiser was held at the Cedar Springs United Method Church on July 3rd. $300 was raised for the Kent while everyone was entertained by the characters from the upcoming play, "The Big Bad Musical". A good time was had by all. Thank you to the volunteers that helped out with cooking, serving, ticket sales, and clean up. It would not have been possible without you.
